Our Take

Best for: Teachers, coaches, and IT staff who hand out files on physical drives.

The PNY Attaché 4 is the drive you buy in bulk, not the one you buy for speed. Each of the ten sticks holds 32GB, which covers thousands of photos, a music library, or a full semester of Word docs and PDFs. The sliding collar means there is no cap to lose in a backpack, and the key loop lets you clip one to a lanyard so it stays with you. 0 drives, and that matters. Write speed lands around 3MB/s, so moving a 4GB video file takes close to 20 minutes. Read speed is quicker, and for documents, slide decks, and small media files the wait is barely noticeable. 0 speed, so an older laptop or a desktop tower with front USB-A ports is the natural home. There is no USB-C connector, so a modern ultrabook needs an adapter. 99 for ten drives you are paying about $5 per stick, well under the typical single-drive price for 32GB. Buy it if you hand out files in person, like teachers, coaches, IT desks, and conference swag, rather than if you need fast large-file transfers.

Price Analysis

The 10-pack is $49.99, down from $76.60, a 35% cut that works out to about $5 per drive. The 30-day average sits at $76.60 while the 90-day and 180-day averages sit at $72.46, so this is the lowest price the multipack has carried in the last six months. If you need bulk 32GB drives, now is the time to buy.

Common Questions

How fast are these drives?

They run at USB 2.0 speed, roughly 3MB/s on writes and faster on reads. That is fine for documents and photos, but a 4GB video file takes around 20 minutes to copy.

Will these work in a USB-C laptop?

Only through a USB-A port or a USB-A to USB-C adapter. The connector on the Attaché 4 is standard USB Type-A, and it runs at USB 2.0 speed even in a USB 3.0 or 3.2 port.

How much space is actually usable on each 32GB drive?

Expect about 29 to 30GB of usable storage per drive. The rest goes to formatting and file system overhead, which is normal for any flash drive.
